Lesson5AA Quiz 1
“Let’s apply what we’ve learned in a quiz. Pay attention to whether the verb root ends with a vowel or a consonant. If it’s a consonant, check if it’s one of the letters ‘f-s-t-k-ç-ş-h-p’. Based on this, be mindful of the use of the ‘d’ or ‘t’ suffix. Also, note the last vowel of the verb root, as the vowel in the suffix will be determined accordingly. Please take the quiz several times over different days. If you make a mistake, remember it’s just a small one, and even if you use the wrong suffix, people will still understand you. Don’t spend too much time thinking about which suffix to use while speaking. Go with the first suffix that comes to your mind. For example, after the verb root ‘oku’, the suffix ‘duğumda’ should come. If you say ‘okudığımda,’ it will be grammatically incorrect, but everyone will understand you. For languages like Turkish, which have a lot of suffixes, listening is crucial. Read and listen to a lot of Turkish content. Your brain will learn automatically. Remember to take the quizzes at least 3-4 times at different intervals. Frequent review is essential. Good luck! :)”
